Affiliate and Advertising Disclosure
Last updated: February 2026
Transparency is one of our core values at BleeBot. We believe you have the right to understand how our publication generates revenue and how that relates to the content we produce. This disclosure explains how BleeBot makes money, how affiliate links work, and why our editorial independence is never compromised by our business relationships.
How BleeBot Makes Money
BleeBot is a free-to-read technology publication. We do not charge readers for access to our articles, reviews, or guides. To sustain our operations and continue producing quality content, we generate revenue through the following channels:
- Affiliate Commissions — When we link to products in our reviews, buying guides, and articles, some of those links are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, BleeBot may earn a small commission from the retailer. This commission comes from the retailer, not from you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our affiliate link or navigate to the retailer directly.
- Display Advertising — BleeBot displays advertisements on its pages through third-party advertising networks. These ads are clearly distinguishable from our editorial content.
- Sponsored Content — On rare occasions, BleeBot may publish sponsored content or partnered features. Any sponsored content is always clearly and prominently labeled as “Sponsored,” “Paid Partnership,” or similar designation. Sponsored content is never presented as independent editorial coverage.
FTC Compliance
BleeBot complies with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines regarding the use of endorsements and affiliate links in online content. In accordance with 16 CFR Part 255, we disclose our material connections with the companies and products we write about.
This page serves as our site-wide disclosure. In addition, individual articles that contain affiliate links include appropriate disclosure notices to ensure readers are aware of our affiliate relationships in context.
How Affiliate Links Work
Affiliate marketing is a standard practice among online publications. Here is how it works on BleeBot:
- We write a review, buying guide, or article that references a product or service.
- Where appropriate, we include links to retailers where readers can purchase the product. Some of these links contain affiliate tracking codes.
- If you click one of these links and complete a purchase (or sometimes another qualifying action), the retailer pays BleeBot a small referral commission.
- This commission is paid by the retailer as part of their marketing budget. It does not increase the price you pay for the product.
We participate in affiliate programs with major retailers and technology companies, including but not limited to Amazon Associates and other established affiliate networks. The specific affiliate programs we participate in may change over time as we evaluate the best options for our readers.
How to Identify Affiliate Links
We strive to make affiliate links identifiable to our readers:
- Articles containing affiliate links include a disclosure statement, typically at the beginning or end of the article.
- Affiliate links generally direct you to established retailers and marketplaces where you can purchase products we have reviewed or recommended.
- If you are ever unsure whether a link is an affiliate link, you can check the URL — affiliate links often contain tracking parameters or redirect through affiliate network domains.
You are never obligated to use our affiliate links. If you prefer, you can navigate directly to a retailer’s website to make your purchase. We appreciate when readers choose to support our work through affiliate links, but we respect your choice either way.
Editorial Independence
This is the most important section of this disclosure: our affiliate relationships and advertising partnerships do not influence our editorial content.
Here is what that means in practice:
- Reviews are honest. Our product reviews reflect the genuine experience and professional judgment of our editorial team. We do not adjust review scores, soften criticism, or exaggerate praise based on affiliate or advertising relationships.
- Recommendations are earned. When we recommend a product, it is because our team believes it offers genuine value to readers. Products are never recommended because they offer higher affiliate commissions.
- Coverage is not for sale. Companies cannot pay for favorable reviews or guaranteed coverage on BleeBot. Our editorial team independently decides which products to review and how to evaluate them.
- Negative reviews are published. If a product does not meet our standards, we say so. We do not suppress negative reviews to protect affiliate or advertising revenue.
- Editorial and business are separate. The editorial team operates independently from any business or advertising functions. Writers and editors are not informed about or influenced by which companies have advertising or affiliate relationships with BleeBot.
Product Review Units
Some products reviewed on BleeBot are provided by manufacturers as review units. When a product has been provided for review, we disclose this in the article. Receiving a review unit does not guarantee coverage, does not guarantee a favorable review, and does not create any obligation to the manufacturer.
Review units are handled in accordance with our Editorial Policy, which requires the same level of objectivity and rigor regardless of how a product was obtained.
Your Trust Matters
Our business model depends on your trust. If we compromise our editorial integrity for short-term revenue, we lose the credibility that makes our content valuable to you and, ultimately, to our business. That is why we take these disclosures seriously and enforce a strict separation between editorial and commercial interests.
