How to Fix Google Drive “Waiting to Backup” Error

Activate USB Debugging

To activate USB debugging, go to Settings/About Phone. Tap on the Build Number section 7 times, and the Developer Options menu will be available. Go back, tap on the Developer Options section, and enable USB Debugging.

Configure ADB on your device.

Download the ADB and Fastboot installation file on your PC. There is also the option to acquire the Google Binary Files and extract the content into a new folder by using WinRAR or a similar program. Open the folder; keep a finger on shift and right-click. Launch the Open Powershell Window to continue.

Enter these commands

Type these commands in the PowerShell window. Remember to press enter after each one:

  • adb shell
  • bmgr run
  • bmgr backup now –all

If errors appear, type this code to force Google Drive to restart all backups on your device:

  • bmgr backup now AppData
  • bmgr backup now –all

The Google Drive “waiting to backup” error should be fixed.
