Google Maps is one of the most useful apps that the Android parent has created and there is no doubt about that. After all, Google Maps is the app that makes it possible of everyone to travel the world from the comfort of their homes. What’s great about Google Maps is the fact that the app can be used to get the fastest and most secure navigation routes when traveling the world or when simply getting lost in a big city.
With that said, it should come as no surprise that the Android parent is constantly updating Google Maps with detailed maps and software improvements. In fact, a new update has started rolling out earlier this morning and today we are going to present everything there is to know about it.
Google Maps 10.28.2 Update
The latest update for Google Maps sports the 10.28.2 version number and it’s rolling out via Google’s official OTA (over the air) channels. This means that the only thing that Google Maps fans need to do in order to access it is to simply keep their smartphones connected to a stable Wi-Fi network and to wait for it to pop up in their notification panels. In addition, the update weighs in at 1.47MB and it requires a minimum of Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system in order to run.
We also want to mention that there is a way for eager Google Maps fans to access the update ahead of everyone else. The new update has been released in the form of APK and this makes it possible for Google Maps fans to manually download and install the update directly on their smartphones and avoid having to wait for it to arrive via OTA channels.
As we can tell from the update’s small size, it is a maintenance release. This means that the new update doesn’t come with any new features or maps and that instead, it introduces a bunch of bug fixes and software improvements.
