Google is set to release its Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL soon. Because of numerous leaks and rumors regarding the smartphones, we know almost all the specs and features of the upcoming devices. However, a previously discovered feature has just been confirmed, and fans are thrilled.
Google’s Pixel 4 is intended to come with a set of new software attires; among these new optimizations, there is a new version of the Pixel Launcher that brings an incredibly useful new gesture.
You can manually download the launcher from the Pixel 4 for your device. The Pixel Launcher that is pre-installed on the upcoming smartphone comes with a new gesture that allows users to pull down the notification window whenever swiping down on a blank area of the Home screen. It is a useful feature that third-party launchers and even a few OEM devices have already incorporated.
Having this new feature on the Pixel 4 will be more so handy because Google is removing the rear-facing fingerprint sensor on that handset, and bringing Face Unlock. While the Home screen gesture to reach notifications will not be a system-wide like the fingerprint one was, it is still counting as a useful optimization.
For current Pixel smartphones that feature the fingerprint gesture, this Pixel Launcher option should be a valuable addition nonetheless. As we mentioned earlier, the updated Pixel Launcher can be manually downloaded and installed on devices. All you have to do it head to a trusted APK website and download the latest version of it. The best APK is the one that’s been extracted from a pre-release Pixel 4; it should also function on any other Pixel device.
We should note, though, that this version of the Pixel Launcher can cause a bug for some users that turns off the Home gesture. To fix this issue, one should use the back gesture to return to the launcher or recent menus.
However, if you don’t want to assume any unnecessary risks, the feature will eventually appear through the Play Store.
