GTA 6 may not be available on the Xbox One and PS4

Rockstar Games has been hard at work in recent months, and the iconic studio will release Red Dead Redemption 2, its latest hit, on the PC in a few weeks.

Many fans were surprised by the fact that Rockstar decided to bring the game on the PC as the previous title is not available on this platform. While many Rockstar games are available on Steam, it seems that RDR 2 will be exclusive for the Rockstar Games Launcher and Google Stadia.

Several sources claim that Rockstar has been hard at work on the development of GTA 6, the next entry in the world-famous Grand Theft Auto series. According to some recent rumors, the title could be released as a launch game for the next generations of consoles: the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett, which should be available during the holiday season of 2020.

While some fans are excited about these rumors others are afraid. In the past it was argued that GTA V could have been considerably better if the game wasn’t released on the older generations of consoles. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game pushed the consoles to the limits, but some significant compromises were needed to maintain peak performance on aging hardware.

Steven Ogg, the voice actor for Trevor Phillips, stated during a recent event that GTA 6 could be released earlier than some may think. The statement offered by the controversial actor can be interpreted in two ways, as he said that the average development for a Rockstar game would last 7 to 8 years. On the one hand, this may mean that GTA 6 could be released by the end of 2020. However, it can also mean that Rockstar will spend that amount of time on development, with an estimated launch date of 2025 or 2026.

Until an official announcement comes, we can only hope that the game will be great.
