GTA Online Update Rolled Out Stricter Cheating Policies

GTA Online is still one of the most played games in the world, and one of the most popular titles in the Grand Theft Auto series. The release gathered hundreds of thousands of GTA players, and Rockstar Games is scoring significant profits thanks to it. GTA Online, on the other hand, might be one of the reasons why Rockstar decided to delay the production and, respectively, the release of GTA 6.

There are many cheaters and modders in GTA Online

Recently, a new GTA Online update has rolled out with some novelties to celebrate 2019 Halloween holiday, but also with some stricter cheating policies. And that because Rockstar Games is still fighting with cheaters and modders who are quite inventive in creating new methods to cheat and mod GTA Online.

And all that, even though the devs continuously ban cheaters in the GTA 5 multiplayer mode. “GTA Online suspensions are triggered by several factors, including modding in GTA Online, exploiting or abusing game mechanics, manipulating protected game data and code, or interfering with other players’ gameplay experience,” said Rockstar.

GTA Online update rolled out stricter cheating policies

The new cheating policies that Rockstar Games implemented in GTA Online came now, just before the launch of the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version. In fact, the developers have level-upped their cheating policies for both titles – GTA Online and Red Dead Online.

Rockstar Games presented its new, stricter cheating policies in a series of articles. If one is caught cheating, an account correction would be implemented, which would restore the respective profile to the situation before the cheating has happened. Account suspension comes next, and it applies when users alter the gameplay with cheats and mods.

Next, there is a permanent ban, which is self-explanatory. In the case of this one, the user won’t be able to login to GTA Online or create a new account, at least, from the same computer or IP.
