Always-on displays is that app that allows you to have the time, date, weather, battery status, and notifications available, without having actually to unlock the display. The feature was first introduced on Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
Then it has been extended to mid-range smartphones. It is easier for those who want to check their smartphone’s display, continually looking for new notifications. By unlocking the phone regularly, it affects the battery consumption. With this feature, you can get access to all of this info with the screen off.
How to Enable The Always-On Display on Android Smartphones
Always On is still in beta. The app is straightforward to use, and it comes with many forms of customization. Once you download it, you need to grant the necessary authorizations, and then you will immediately face the options which are available to you. If you click on Automatic Rules, you can decide if you want to activate the Always-on feature during charging or not.
If you click on Gestures and shortcuts, you will wake up the screen with a double-tap, a swipe, or other gestures. Under Appearance, you can change the brightness, the background, or the style of the clock. When it comes to Notifications, you can activate the display by clicking on the icon.
With this app, you can activate the proximity sensor in order to lock the device when you put it in your bag or pocket. The battery will only win from this situation. Keep in mind that the app won’t give 100% since it’s on beta for now, but that does not mean that it’s useless.
