Tumblr’s New Features Include Stickers and Photo Filters

Tumblr is a photoblog website that became popular during the mid-2000s. Tumblr lets you follow other blogs, repost their creations, and upload your own content on your page, including text posts, photos, videos, and audio files. Being a successful website, it got its own app, available for both iOS and Android devices.
Now, let’s take a look at some of the unique features Tumblr provides:
  • Customizable blog: you can choose your preferred colors, fonts, layout, and more.
  • Unique content: Tumblr is known as a refuge for posts that would not fit in with other platforms
  • Social aspect: You can follow other blogs, reblog their content, and start discussions
  • Tags: New content can easily be discovered searching tags related to your preferences
Since its initial launch, Tumblr has gone through a drastic transformation, perpetually changing, adding features, fixing issues, and more.
Back in May, Tumblr added the much-awaited feature that allows users to create GIFs directly from the Tumblr mobile app. Since the majority of users were already requesting it, the feature quickly became popular.
The most recent change Tumblr has gone through is the addition of stickers and filters. After the majority of other social networks offered their users updates including these features, Tumblr had to jump on the bandwagon. Now you can add stickers and filters to photos you post on your blog.
Tumblr is a great app, but we can’t avoid discussing what happened two years ago, when the community guidelines of Tumblr changes, eliminating all of the explicit content from the platform. Since this type of content was the main reason some users chose this app, the popularity of Tumblr began to decline.
Right now, Tumblr is not as popular as in its glory days, but it hasn’t died out completely. We will have to wait and see what happens next.
