Just one month after the official launch of the Android 11 operating system on Pixel phones, Samsung is already offering a beta version for testing on users’ devices. Samsung’s new version of Android comes bundled with the new One UI 3.0 interface, which brings visual changes to phone menus, adopting a less flat design, based rather on transparent elements, similar to what we’ve seen in the last few years on iOS.
Currently, access to Android 11 Beta with One UI 3.0 is available exclusively to Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra users in the US and South Korea. Curiously, the Galaxy S20 FE model, newly launched, also equipped with the Snapdragon 865 processor in 5G variant is not included in this beta test.
According to Samsung’s official statements, One UI 3.0 with Android 11 will be available to users in the US, UK, South Korea, Poland, Germany, China and India in the near future. Of course, the tests will be extended over time to other regions for these devices.
We still don’t know when the final version of One UI 3.0 will be released for these models, but given that testing has already begun, it’s very possible to see the final version released later this year or early next year. Usually, the update for the current generation of Samsung phones is released before the release of the next generation. So before February or March, Galaxy S20 will run Android 11 in the final version.
