Microsoft Edge enables tab synchronization and browsing history between Android and Windows 10

Unlike the Chrome browser, Microsoft Edge for desktop and mobile functioned as separate applications, with the sync function limited to the collection of bookmark files and stored passwords.

Users will appreciate that they can switch between PCs and smartphones without losing the list of open tabs, automatically synced between devices attached to the Microsoft account, along with browsing history. The functionality will be added in a future revision of Microsoft Edge for Android and Windows 10.

Even though Google Chrome remains a very popular choice on Android, the Edge browser is coming stronger and stronger, threatening the second position occupied by Firefox for a long time.

The success comes from a change made by Microsoft by adopting the Chromium platform. Restored almost from scratch, the browser now supports Chrome extensions, is at least as fast as the original developed by Google and perfectly compatible with most websites.

For now, the “friendship” between Google and Microsoft prevents more aggressive measures against rival Edge, Google only working to improve the Chrome experience, bringing various performance optimizations, user concessions and new features.

The Edge browser already syncs passwords and bookmarks, and the latest update will help improve the cross-platform experience – for now, only for users using Android and Windows 10. Microsoft doesn’t provide a precise timeline for activating promised functionality, or support for Mac Edge. .
