Galaxy M62 could be a highly sought after Samsung phone, thanks to its high capacity battery and competitive performance level.
After first launching the Galaxy F62 for the Indian market, Samsung seems to deliver a version of it to international markets, made using stocks of components left over from the Galaxy Note10 and several other next-generation smartphone models.
Why would Samsung want to use different names to launch the same phone in different countries? We can only assume that these are subtle differences in specifications, but rather, Samsung wants to apply different prices, adapted to the purchasing power available in different regions of the world. Most likely, the international version of Galaxy M62 will be significantly more expensive than the edition addressed to the Indian market.
For now, the launch set for March 3, 2021 seems to be confirmed only for Malaysia, it remains to be seen whether Samsung will make it a global event. The only difference from the Indian F62 seems to be the absence of a color version, the M62 will only be delivered in the Laser Gray and Laser Blue options, not the green version.
Galaxy M62 will run Android 11 and comes equipped with the same 7000 mAh battery found in the Galaxy M51 model, assisted with fast charging at 25W power. Used in combination with an efficient configuration in terms of energy consumption, the oversized battery could lead to more than 3 days of autonomy under normal use.
The phone will have the Exynos 9825 chipset, created by Samsung using the 7nm manufacturing process, delivering performance comparable to the former Samsung flagship, Galaxy Note 10. Galaxy M62 will be available in version with 6GB and 8GB RAM, respectively 128GB internal storage and microSD slot . The camera will have a 64MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro sensor and a 5MP DoF sensor. The front camera will be a 32MP model.
It remains to be seen whether in addition to 4G LTE connectivity, the only option offered to consumers in India, Samsung will also deliver a Galaxy M62 5G version.
