The OnePlus 8T model was not launched on the market a long time ago, but the Chinese manufacturer is already preparing for the launch of the next series of phones. If the 8T series enjoyed only one phone, we expect to receive at least three new models for the OnePlus 9 range, as well as a partnership with a famous camera manufacturer. Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, broke the silence today, March 1, and revealed the date when the new series will be officially announced.
OnePlus 9 Pro could use Hasselblad cameras
On his Twitter account, Pete Lau posted a photo of the planet Earth seen from the moon, with the message “Something new is on the horizon”, as well as a date when we will find out more. Thus, we can expect the official unveiling of the OnePlus 9 series on March 8, exactly one week after this unveiling.
However, the photo in question provides additional detail about the cameras. OnePlus 9 phones will probably not benefit from a “space zoom” similar to that of Samsung phones, but they could benefit from one of the most famous photography brands: Hasselblad. A similar photo was taken with a Hasselblad camera during the Apollo 8 mission, and previous leaks suggest that the OnePlus 9 Pro will at least be equipped with Hasselblad optics and / or technology.
Hasselblad is a company of Swedish origin, specialized in making medium-sized cameras, which was bought in 2017 by the Chinese drone and photo and video equipment manufacturer DJI. In fact, the Mavic 2 Pro drone is the first in the portfolio of the Hasselblad branded company.
The three phone models expected in the March 8 announcement are the OnePlus 9 Pro, with 45W wireless charging, Snapdragon 888 processor and 14.78 ”screen at 6.40” at 120 Hz, the standard OnePlus 9 model with 6.55 ”screen , 120 Hz and 1080p resolution, as well as the OnePlus 9R or OnePlus 9 Lite model, with Snapdragon 865 processor.
